Through the development of green technology, we incorporate environmental sustainability concepts into the entire product life cycle, from green production and product design to energy-saving end products. This includes collaborating with upstream suppliers to establish material traceability mechanism, managing factory production data, adhering to standard certification procedures, and enhancing the competitiveness of green products in the market through product features and circular applications for downstream customers.
Integrating innovative thinking into green technology applications, AUO focuses on the capabilities of three key display technologies: AmLED (AUO Adaptive mini LED), LTPS (Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Silicon) , and ChLC (Cholesteric Liquid Crystal) . AUO develops energy-saving, power-efficient, and lightweight products designed for smart mobility and premium laptop applications. Power-saving & lightweight
Featuring AUO’s LTPS low-power panel technology, the product offers ultra-high resolution, ultra-narrow bezels, a high screen-to-body ratio, a lightweight design, and energy efficiency. It contributes to carbon emission reduction. By 2025, green products will achieve a 30% reduction in energy consumption compared to 2021.

PCR implementation to product recyclability
In terms of product design, we have successfully incorporated post-consumer recycled(PCR) plastic from household consumption, increased the material recycling rate, and enhanced product circularity. This has expanded the application scope of waste plastic, and achieved compliance with global recycling standards such as the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) and UL Recycled Content Verification.
In 2020, AUO created the world's first display that passed the UL 3600 verification for circularity, and in 2021, we introduced recycled plastics to launch the first eco-friendly concept laptop.

Green energy manufacturing
The display manufacturing process is powered by green energy from self-sufficient solar and green energy wheeling, achieving a low carbon footprint and meeting international clients’ standards and expectations for green products. In 2024, AUO launches the world’s first display manufactured using 100 percent green energy, partnering with Acer to create the Aspire Vero 16 carbon-neutral laptop.
