The Dow Jones Sustainability Indices are among the most credible global measures of corporate sustainability, assessing corporate performance across three dimensions: Environment, Social and Governance (ESG). They represent the top 10% of sustainability leaders from each industry. In the latest review results, AUO obtained perfect scores in Environmental Policy & Management, Water, Policy Influence, Privacy Protection, Transparency and Reporting, and Materiality, and also topped the industry in Biodiversity and Sustainable Raw Materials.

In terms of Sustainable Raw Materials, AUO focuses on sustainability at all stages of the product life cycle. Through the company’s management system, a traceability platform for raw materials and supplier management standards has been established to ensure sustainability at every step of the process, from sourcing, product design to material selection. AUO considers a low environmental footprint and minimal of harmful substances in its raw material selection, actively opting for recycled raw materials. The company collaborates with clients, suppliers and certification partners to implement sustainable practices. These efforts include expanding the development and adoption of various recycled materials and the implementing recycled material certification for quality and safety control, which 98% of its associated suppliers have achieved.

On the Information and Privacy Protection front, AUO believes that information security and privacy are the cornerstones of trust. AUO complies with regulations and has put in place a rigorous policy and management regime covering individuals, clients and suppliers, which is implemented through education and training, internal audits, third-party verification and other procedures. For individuals, AUO continues to strengthen its Data Protection and Personal Data Privacy Policy. For clients, the company adheres to international standards for assessment and verification, including U.S. national standards, as well as standards for the automotive and medical devices ^(*) industries. For the supply chain, AUO has conducted annual supplier information security self-assessments for four consecutive years and has assisted suppliers in improving their organizational and systems management based on their own experience.

Maintaining Constructive Communication and Engagement with Stakeholders is important to AUO. A double materiality assessment approach has been applied to assess the impact of sustainability trends on the company operations and their external impact on sustainability. This approach helps identify international sustainability trends and stakeholder concerns, thereby strengthening risk management and control on critical topics. This year, AUO introduced the “Impact Measurement and Valuation (IMV)”, which analyzes 32 impact valuations of value chain activities on the economic, environment and society. It converts the impact of company operational activities into monetary value, providing measurable and comparable benefits and costs. This approach offers a quantifiable metric for assessing AUO’s synergistic ESG value. The results of this evaluation have been published in AUO’s Sustainability Impact Valuation Report. In the spirit of transparency and disclosure, reports such as the ESG Insight, TCFD Report and TNFD Report have also been published to meet the demand for sustainability information from a diverse set of stakeholders.
